Something is seriously wrong with the union movement in Wisconsin when so many of its own members actually vote for the guy who’s got his boot on their throats.read more (http://www.thebellforum.com/accountability_in_defeat_in_wis.html)

This isn't a bad run down on the Wisconsin debacle. All of the questions the author raises are fairly good questions. Who made the decisions to kill the movement and turn everything into a Democratic ploy? How was the movement dispersed so easily? Why were the unions of so little help? And others.

The problem is that the answer (to all of the questions of importance) is one the author cannot discover - and if shown the answer, he could not understand it. The problem in all of this shit is that there is no organized working class movement, in Wisconsin or in America. When Walker won the first time, the author says the union leadership was asked what were their plans. The answer was, "Hire a Republican lobbyist." Where can you go from there? These progressives can't understand why union members voted for Walker in this recall election; the author wonders about it, but hasn't asked any of them. There is no working class movement in this country. There is little working class consciousness and these progressives (like the author, here) cannot say the words, "working class" and understand them. Since workers, union or otherwise, in Wisconsin, or in the USA, are not class conscious, as a class, why would anyone think that any of them would vote in blocks - for or against anything? If all you are advocating for is voting for personal benefit, then the individual voters decides for themselves what is or is not beneficial to them. This is why voting in a bourgeois state is of so little value to the working class. We have to vote as a class to have any benefits derive to us as a class. These are the things that progressive liberals (and evidently the CPUSA) do not understand...
