Relentless, tireless, always challenging, setting a standard of political and personal integrity that is hard to match.

No rolling silly smiling things; no evidence of ego; Pure criticism.

A unique voice... the Ghost of Christmas Future.

Not possible. They do tend to rise again for the next haunting.

Hey anywayz drinks are on me. Gasbags are running the show at DU hence the stench.

If they weren't such venal cowards I'd ask we all meet up in a central locale to iron out our differences in person?

I'll even buy them drinks and provide the stain remover.

One thing that is to be taken seriously here though is how extremely aggressive they became and how they really searched out the situation so as to investigate who this person was in their witch hunt. That, to me, gives us a hint at how various goose steppers use the internet to purge and actively control ideas. I cannot possibly believe that some of those people are actually doing that work free of charge.

Anyway thanks for the honor my friend. As always at your service.

Here are a few threads on the matter and very heartening to see some kind words of solidarity by several posters. I'll say it again, "Stick a knife in it." The Democratic is dying. Any and everything we can do to hurry that along is good work.

We have weathered the fire storm of red-baiting. There are more and more people asking questions every day. The old basis upon which these boards and porgressive sites were formed has died, and traffic is down everywhere. But there is a need for something new.

and educating the public with useful information, you meant to hurry the demise of DU, I suppose that's ok, because you weren't disrupting. I would disagree with the anything and everything premise.
DU is organically imploding, it appears. You were right in your role of information provider, which furthers whatever organic process is taking place. As much as people hate DU, I like to see people attempting to fight the bullies with knowledge. Until they get banned, of course. The turmoil is very revealing, and sort of forces people to reveal where they are on the spectrum. It turns out there are RW "Democrats", well what do you know?
We always knew they were there, but now, when the issue is Obama continuing Bush policies, people reveal their real colors.

I'd like to extend an open invitation to lurking DUers to come join a board where Orwellian "moderation" doesn't happen.

The descriptions at the DU septic tank of our "forced march" are ironic in the extreme.

Do drop in. You needn't only lurk, folks. You just need to be able to accept being challenged - something that is verboten in the septic tank where the myth of "free speech" is proven over and over and over...

"and educating the public with useful information, you meant to hurry the demise if DU, that's ok, because you weren't disrupting. I would disagree with the anything and everything premise."

I can't speak for the unparalleled Ghost, but I think you're mistaking his desire to hurry the demise of the Democratic Party with hurrying the demise of DU. If anything he made DU much stronger by attracting an amazing following, and presenting discussions that moved many on that board to the left (to more tenable positions).

His final days brought levels of red-baiting so juvenile, that I can't believe even those clowns could post them. They could have learned a lot from the more subtle attempts here.

yes, I was heartened in particular by OG's consistent postings concerning the wars, as I know others were.
Very simply, DU is as good as it's posts.

Two fingers in the air for Judgement and a Lamotta sendoff:

So, for the second time, the Pharisees summoned the man who had been blind and said: / "Speak the truth before God. / We know this fellow is a sinner." / "Whether or not he is a sinner, I do not know," / The man replied. / "All I know is this: / Once I was blind and now I can see." - John IX, 24-26 / the New English Bible

Wonder if that had anything to do with it? Many of the same old reactionaries are still there, could be some of the new ones changed the balance?
