She responded by telling me to get a life, grow up, accused me of being a long-time disruptor and banned me (again) on the spot. Then she deleted the bump posts and all the threads disappeared back down the memory hole.

Oh, I see. I'm not surprised she reacted that way. Predictable. There's some lack of intellectual honesty or something going on there. I made some fucked up decisions as an admin, admittedly, but eventually you gotta learn from it. I know I come on pretty strong, but the dumb shit just flows from these people like it's part of their body's natural excretory processes. The more heavily they delve into theory, the more they start to think they know something because they took 2 semesters of sociology or Econ macro AND micro or they studied "critical theory" as part of their "General Studies" major or they sat in on a Poli Sci upper division seminar class once or, worst of all, because they've read alot of shit on the internet.

Which is OK, since changing the subject is highly recommended anyway given that of all the political discussions that could prove fruitful on the internet, probably none involve "theory". And note there is no agreed upon definition for theory in the first place.

But, they can shift gears with the best of em and they'll happily give you their social prognosis..not in lieu of the abstracted mutterings they're passing out as "theory" but plastered over them at least. It takes the form of high-handed lectures on what WE need to do (always some bizarre agenda that pounces on you from outta nowhere) but undergirding it all is in truth such a mish-mash of generalized sentiment (people are ready for a change), lack of insight and non-computability (one minute it's the system, the next its the Republicans and after that its consumerism or monopolies or calculating conspiring elites or human greed or lack of honor/integrity/duty or..) and the weirdest sort of circadian rhythms -- sometimes there's an enforced positivity and they're all cheery and full of sunshine and then, bam, it's their sad time and they're all gloomy with despair and capitulation and a self-serving dose of cynicism (why aren't people smart enough to see this? things'll NEVER change because we're sheep in this country!) -- that it reduces to head-scratching incoherence and drools down the page like runny liquid diarrhea down your leg.

If you try to ask the obvious questions or make a suggestion like "hey you might wanna check yourself dude because you're talking nonsense" they heap a few shovefuls of their pet bullshit down your throat. If you fail to take this "medicine" pleasantly you get passive aggressiveness couched in niceties plus an even more liberal (sic) dose of whatever wares they are peddling (and its guaranteed to be nuttier than squirrel shit). You are expected to not only recant your prior disbelief but also to swallow this new and improved reeking load of trash-cum-treasure with the same wry smile that precedes drinking a bottle of Drain-O or Listerine in a pinch, if the asylum keeps household cleansers well out of reach.

I found out about it cuz BP name-dropped it here a week ago or whatever. Its basically DU refugees who are still DUers but don't like Obama for various reasons and are therefore "disillusioned" and or driven off from DU proper. There is an inkling of "we need something altogether different" but then you can find that at the Green Party National Convention too.
