The U.S federal government’s Center for Disease Control (CDC), part of thatvgovernment’s Public Health Service and one of the most prestigious and internationally respected such centers, last month published a report on the epidemic created by the Ebola virus. The CDC estimated that “cases of Ebola (in Liberia and Sierra Leone) could multiply over the next four months to a total number varying between 550,000 cases and 1.4 million."
