On May 5, 2015, a meeting of Communist parties and organizations was held in the Donbass region (Donets river basin) to exchange views about the situation that is being formed in Southeast Ukraine and the tasks of the Communists.The meeting was held at the invitation of the Russian Communist and Workers' Party and the Communist Workers' Organization of Lugansk and the Communist Party of Donetsk, communist and workers parties from certain republics of the former USSR, as well as representatives of the KKE (CP Greece) nd CP (Italy) took part. At the meeting, the KKE was represented by Elisseos Vagenas, member of the CC of the KKE and Director of the International Relations Section of the CC of the KKE, at the meeting.
