View Full Version : Some things I've learned on twitter

Over the last couple of weeks I have been tweeting, mostly in the Ukraine/Novorossiya lists. There are many people who consider themselves to be "leftists", but who know next to nothing about "left". In some ways it reminds me of the old PI board. But, in some ways it is much worse. The ability to make a cogent argument, to explain and build agreements is completely gone. It is, in a way, the epitome of modern political culture. Shallow, almost bereft of meaningful content, and devoid of any signs of class - well, at least conscious class. I have accumulated 50, some-odd, "followers" (not that I really understand this "follower" thing) and I have traded some remarks with one or another Nazi sympathizer, red-baiter, Trot, or Eurolefty. I have been "favored" by some, retweeted by some, and been "favored in tweets where I was mentioned", often in unflattering or negative ways.
I am afraid it means almost nothing to me. I cannot get a feel for what is the end result of all this; it really comes down to seeming too remote, too "throwing things against a wall" kinda thing. I think I will continue to read in the tweeterverse, for the news and things, but I think I will not engage as much (if at all). I can't see the good in it and I may be doing harm - I don't know.

Hard to get real serious in 147 characters but it's good for slogans. Way I look at it is they're temporary allies in support of NR. Got the full spectrum, Ron Paul groupies to RevSoc, all sorts of liberals, conspiracy clowns, seeming Leninists like Red Kahina(I not sure, can get weird), Phil Greaves(who I RT a good bit) , not to mention fascist trolls & the occasional celeb ruling class tool. I pass on a lot of shit I'd normally call, especially from Russians. I do poke liberals like Seboda but just lightly. There to support the troops, show the flag & gather info. When this is over I'll not go there so much, though it can be a good source of content.

Meanwhile just waiting on confirmed info from Debaltsevo, NAF won but how big?

Yeah, I go back, too. There is a kinda freedom that is okay, too. And some folks seem to really enjoy holding up the Red Flag (I am always ready for that). It looks like this may be the biggest victory for NAF in the war, yet. every report sounds worse and worse for the Nazis.
