The threat of military intervention in Libya is driven by Italian oil and business interests and the need to divert attention from growing domestic tensions.

Christ, what is this? 1930? If Germany invades Poland, I'm going home. I wondered how long capitalist interests in Europe (or the US for that matter) would let the jihadis interfere with the oil business. Italy wants to send 5000 Italian troops into Libya and strongly hints for NATO support - will they get it? Does Italy really want to get into a North African war? Does NATO? The EU? We all know the US is going to be all for it. Egypt might back the Italians - or maybe not. The Trots think that this is mostly distraction, may be.

After conquering Cyrenaica and Tripolitania, what is left for Italy to do but to invade Abyssinia next?
You really can't make this shit up.
