In the past few months,I have become quite bummed out on the whole business of message boards,blogs and other sundry crap.It's all so phony,so unreal.Wasting your day posting on DU,Free Republic,or at some equally dumb comments section of some newssite/sports site whatever,is every bit as pointless,as wasting your time over at "Second Life".I have actually been in back of a woman in line at the Circle K,whose iPhone started blaring a few seconds of "Touch Me".She stopped in mid-transaction,and told the clerk."Oh wait a minute,somebody's just responded to one of my comments."I'll leave it to you to speculate what Jim Morrison would think of this.

I don't know what's worse,this or some asshole who walks down the aisle of the supermarket, while loudly yammering away on their bluetooth.May they all get brain tumors as big as watermelons.

I have no idea if anyone has bothered to do a complete count of exactly how many message boards,or other sites,like Crooks & Liars,where people post long,pointless threads,there are out there,but there has got to be almost as many of them as there are porn sites.And like porn sites,they seem to proliferate like weeds.It takes a certain degree of small-mindedness to waste hours on end, at a place like DU,Free Republic,or Kos.Or on one message board after another.Just as it does to send out thousands of copies of some 9/11 truth,or anti-Sarah Palin video,and think you are doing something.And like watching porn,there is a strong element of doing something for no other reason than self-gratification.There is also a strong element of what Neil Postman called amusing ourselves to death here.Going onto DU,and blathering about Obama,is not really any different than rehashing the last show of "American Idol".Neither are going to squat to fix the injustice of your choice in this country.Anymore than voting is.

Hey Eats, just yesterday I got a letter from some Who's Who organization. They wanted to profile me for whatever reason (and trust me there is no legitimate reason to profile me). I'm sure its some kinda scam, but for Job: I put "blogger". Which is funny because I don't have a blog and I don't blog. I feel so alone :(

Of course under Skills: I put "pump gas" so I'm sure I'll be hearing from them any day now..
