So the verdict has been handed down in the Oscar Grant case in Oakland-the police officer who shot and killed an unarmed black man on a BART train last year. The officer got two years in prison.

Now, instead of being outraged at this, a lot of white bourgeoisie are, predictably, scared of the reaction in Oakland to this news from black people.

Fear and hate go hand in hand. White people, especially rich (or "middle class") white people, are very, very fearful. They fear loss of control, loss of their position as bourgeoisie, so they do everything that they can to keep non-white, poor people down.

Of course, that just breeds more fear-a "vicious cycle". Just as more economic, social, and political inequality breeds more fear and resentment and stress and hatred all around.

So, bourgeoisie..stay out of Oakland. Don't try to "reform" or "do something" about it. People are mad enough at you already

I did a post about it on another board. Some were sympathetic but also got the "blame the victim" crap. Gee, I think when a cop decides to tie down an unarmed man and then shoot them execution style it is out of line. Others responded by blaming the victim - sadly not uncommon in this country.
