It's emotional rubbish promoting victimhood. Why should I work hard providing for my family so some guy can come along and rob us to support his drug habit or stash of cash. Fuck him. No one knocks on my door to find out if I'm rich before they break into my car, steal my kid's bike, etc.

Like I said, there just aren't that many political prisoners despite the fact that some would like to propagate that meme to alibi the criminal acts of themselves and their compadres. Crime is a lifestyle choice chosen by all "classes," of people for all kinds of reasons.

Steal a loaf of my bread because you are hungry, no sweat. Steal my stereo because you need a fix, a drink, new $200 sneakers; fuck you.

Those images and headlines from the Yahoo news site spoke volumes, damn happy black drunk thief, poor hungry white folk survivalists, makes me realize how important being a visual literacy teacher can be, how to read propaganda's images; gotta get to work adjusting my curriculum.

Chlamor, unique events are unique events.

Ridiculous statement there. Katrina may be a "unique event" but are we to imagine that this unique event caused the examples of racism that it highlighted, and that had there been no hurricane there would be no racism?

As for disparity is prison populations, sure it exists. In Alberta, natives are over-represented in prisons. But this doesn't happen because they DIDN'T break the law.

I really hate this liberal "don't get me wrong, but..." bullshit that says two opposite things at the same time.

This "that doesn't mean they didn't break the law" pseudo-intellectual bullshit sticks in my craw as well. He might as well say "sure the cops unfairly target certain people and see 'crimes' that they don't see when white people do them. But that doesn't mean that the cops don't see crime in some places and not others, and then arrest some people and not others." How can it be true and not true at the same time?

F-ing liberals know they can't say "lock the niggers up" so they go through this mealy-mouth double talk with no semantic content. "Hey don't get me wrong, I agree..." and then "but that doesn't mean that I agree."

I won't argue that blacks or natives or the poor etc. don't get profiled.

Of course you won't you asshole. Who are the "etc." people?

It happens and it's wrong.

OMG the white liberal has spoken. I guess that absolves him of any and all responsibility.

But if someone makes a choice to commit a crime, it is seldom for an acceptable reason like feeding your kids or financing an operation for your mom.

Well you know how "they" are - never breaking the law for the right reasons, like for the sake of corporate profits. If only "they" would just make the "right choices" we wouldn't have to kill them.

Almost everyone is breaking the law for the "right reasons." When the law is unjust it deserves no respect, breaking it for the sake of breaking it is the "right reason" in and of itself.

Delliquent tax sale in the paper today: 3 pages of real estate, 6 pages of mobile homes.

Just sayin.

That almost happened to my parents because the tax statement somehow got "lost" in the mail

Only goody two shoes professional suburban whites think that "crime" is synonymous with "harming another citizen."

"Crime" is increasingly becoming defined as "not fitting in" or be too poor or unfortunate or principled to play the game a certain way. Failure to submit to, or inability to perform as, or being prevented from emulating the House Negro model is the main "crime" today.
