they don't make rock and roll like they used to! (although I doubt he's thinking of Capt Beefheart when he says that)

Thanks bp.

My house is being rewired as we speak, so I'm looking at it more like this at the moment:

even Anax once admitted to listening to John Lennon (but maybe he was confused due to the homophone..)

I know its coming for me next.

A comment at youtube:

"This song(well, the whole album actually) scared the hell out of me when I was younger."

I was treated to a dose of Capt Beefheart before 8am today courtesy of WCBN.

Dunno if you stream music much but you may like some of the shit on this station. It's the UMich student channel (~not~ the npr affiliate) and there are also some random locals with shows. This morning's playlist has been:

8:48 AM only a mother crosslegged and amazed
8:44 AM camper van beethoven processional
8:40 AM the residents never known questions
8:19 AM hampton grease band evans
8:16 AM the allman brothers in memory of elizabeth reed
8:01 AM charlie daniels no place to go
7:49 AM high tide the great iniversal protection racket
7:45 AM captain beefheart ice rose
7:40 AM claudia quintet zurn
7:29 AM fred frith norgarden nyvla
7:21 AM henry kaiser & fred frith the golden eighties
7:16 AM robert quine & fred maher bluffer
7:12 AM bad livers man vs. fate - 2 out of 3 falls, 10 round limit
7:09 AM bill frisell & vernon reid size 10 1/2 sneaks

The next show up is jazz. I'm just starting to figure out which shows are good - there's some real weird shit sometimes and some horrible shit sometimes but there are also some really great shows. Saturdays are great with a lot of old country and bluegrass (mixed with some newer stuff). A lot of the shows are 'freeform' and some of the DJs are excellent.

Plus they have some of the best PSAs and station breaks I've ever heard. LOL.

Anyway, I thought of you as soon I heard Captain Beefheart so I thought I'd give ya the link.

I don't even have a sound card in this machine..gotta use the other here at the shop(when we're slow) to check music out before I post. At home the land line(only option) is to slow too do most anything. Thanks though... Looks like a pretty good college station.
