There is a quirky thing going on with the DOW and NIKKEI. If you look at the numbers at Bloomberg yesterday's NIKKEI index would have been 8695.51 and the DOW would have been 8693.96.
The Bloomberg numbers show the DOW fell 411.3 today versus 445.46 which makes Japan ahead in what might be called a race to the bottom. There is nothing serious about this, I read the term "race to the bottom" and got to pondering.
At 9:55 EST the DOW was 8282.66 and the NIKKEI was 825,905.
