Athens, from our special correspondent. The Central Committee of the KKE, the Greek Communist Party, has refused to meet with the leader of the Syriza coalition, made up of different left formations including Synaspismos [1]. The Greek President has charged Alexis Tsipras, the leader of the coalition that came in second in the May 6 legislative elections, with forming a government. The party that came in first, New Democracy (ND), led by Antonis Samaras, has failed to form a government. (...)-World (http://www.humaniteinenglish.com/spip.php?rubrique4)

Hurray for the KKE! I hope they will continue to stand strong! Their strength is what the Greek working class needs!

Alexis Tsipras, the leader of SYRIZA: "A government of the Left needs the industrialists and the investors. We need a healthy bussiness environment..."
Dimitris Papadimoulis, MP of SYRIZA: "We will renegotiate a new Memorandum with EU". They are already accepting the basic frame of the old memorandum but they are disagreeing on the specific measures. They dont disagree with th Memorandum itself. They are acknowledging the right of Troika to impose its policies on Greece.
Take a look at this:
http://www.monde-diplomatique.fr/carnet/2012-05-08-Grece
Among other things the author writes: "Ardent desire of all the Greeks of the Left is the destruction of the KKE so it can reconstructed on a new base so the Left at last can take its place in the Greek society".
The author of this article is a journalist in mainstream PASOK oriented newspaper, now a supporter of the Left and SYRIZA. They dont hide their goals anymore. The socialdemocracy is rising all over Europe. In America you have already the voices of a socialdemocratic front against the "conservatives". Their enemies are the communists of every country. They know that the New Left cannot be established where there is a Communist Party. Fuck them.

We have known for some time, here, that our worst enemies are liberals, progressives, and the "new" left. The CPUSA has succumbed to them, but others haven't as of yet.

I think this is what makes them nervous, that there are communists who havent succumbed to opportunism. I think that is why you read everyday suchs gems from Political Affairs. They cant risk the possibility of even a small group of communists in every capitalist country. History shows that they can become a serious danger for capitalism when things go down.

Oh man, I aspire to become "a serious danger to capitalism"...

What I read is that the government is on the hook for another 11+ Billion in cuts by June and if there is another round of elections, its unlikely there would even be a leadership in place by then. Is that going to be a signal moment for Greece and the Euro?

TBH, I dont know. It is a hot potato and no one wants to deal with it now before the new elections. Ofcourse, there is a new scenario that is discusses in Athens right now. ΔΗΜ.ΑΡ (a split from SYRIZA which has accepted the repented PASOK politicians and MPs) could offer its seats to ND and PASOK and form a government with the leader of ΔΗΜ.ΑΡ as Prime Minister. At this moment everything can happen. We are experiencing a reconfiguration of the bourgeois political parties so the system wont collapse. It is clearer now than ever the way the political personel of bourgeoisie redeploys its forces in order to retain the control over the state's mechanism. Its the first time since 1990 there is such a mobility between bourgeois political forces here. They want to fill the political vacuum quickly and efficiently.

Forgive me but it is taking me a long time to get back to read all of this.
So, KKE must be destroyed in order to teach opportunism, surrender and the modern electoral "system" to the working class - so that the "Left" may take its proper place as the uber-realistic lapdog of the liberals...
It doesn't take long, does it? It is all very clear, and it pretty much settles the question of who was "right" in the various debates.
Meanwhile, Hollande lays out the new austerity program ("for the benefit of the working class") and appeals to "financiers and capitalists" while stroking the soft mane and bald head of the loyal PCF leadership.
These are different conditions but it is all reminiscent of Portugal in the 1970s.
Don't underestimate how much pressure they will focus on KKE, including "moral pressure", believe it or not. They are absolute experts on morality.

It seemed to me that barrage was already well under way.

It hasn't even started yet.
Do you have any idea what will happen to Greece - to Greek workers - if Greece were to leave the memorandum, the EU or the Euro? How can you claim to be the voice of the working class if you are directly complicit in their immiseration.
The workers have already rejected your insane, anti-democratic visions. They have spoken and you are a minority party. Will you let your archaic revolutionary and authoritarian fantasies trump the very real dangers to our country?
You claim the working class is not represented when it is your impossible program which is not. There is no prospect for revolution in Greece in the near future. We all want Socialism but your path is to destroy the working class struggle in the name of some reactionary scheme shared by no one but yourselves.
You prevent the unification of the Left. Who does that serve but the reactionaries? In truth, you grease the gantries for the rise of the right. You propose that we simply watch from the sidelines as workers are crushed. Who do you really serve?
etc...
Rinse...
Repeat.

Oh no doubt the intensity and ferocity are going to increase along with the ominous drumbeat backing it up but from what I've read Tsipras has already said most of what you write..and that in the most preliminary of stages of what looks to be an inevitable further round of elections (and prolonged flux/uncertainty in the meantime)
