No sooner was the election out of the way than the ruling class launched a mind-numbing, saturation media campaign over the need to enact a bipartisan deficit-reduction plan before the new-year. Both the Democrats, who control the White House and the Senate, and the Republicans, who control the House of Representatives, agree that such a plan must include sweeping cuts in social entitlements and a comprehensive “reform” of the tax system.
Yep. Ain't no other way to fix things! We got to fuck the workers and poor in the ass! There's no other way! If we don't cut back on wages, social security, medicaid and medicare, unemployment insurance, and other forms of support for the under classes, how can the rich make any money?! Come on! It's just common sense!
I am told that I am always negative, always putting the worst "spin" on events and individuals. Yeah, it's just me. Raising taxes on everyone and cutting everything in the budget, across the board, would be better than what is coming. The "fiscal cliff", in the rear-view mirror, will look like a worn down speed pump. The "fix" for the "cliff" will be a bottomless pit...

So predictible as to be anticlimatic, we can gloat over our erudition while we decide whether to pay the electric bill or buy groceries.
In a dictionary of the near future 'progressive' will have the entry "noun - willfully stupid"
