I don't usually link to DU but this thread is cracking me up. I only wish I could have seen the photoshop in post #90 before it was deleted.

I wish I had saved it, it was very funny. Yoy expanded on his imagery of the neoliberal cereal and called someone out for eating it, that's why he got deleted. I loved that thread.

for all of the grievance those folks have with the Party, for all of the evil results of capitalism they deplore, they will not let go. Cut through all the bitching and moaning and it's the same old shit, 'mixed economic system', reform, 'the Republicans are worse'....see that Mao quote you put up.

But maybe a few might let go someday. I'm not sure. I guess I would have considered myself a liberal 10 years ago until a year or two ago, only because I didn't know about anything else. It wasn't until a year ago that I knew anything about capitalism or started reading Marx here, or anything.

If it wasn't for you guys all posting persistently at DU, I don't know if I would have ever known there was anything other than D/R stuff. Maybe it took having education under siege for me to finally pay attention to the structure of what is going on, but I felt like a light went on. I had to know more.

I don't know. Some times the clue-bat works. It's late and I've had a headache all day, so I don't know if that was at all coherent.

thanks for the warm fuzzy, I mean it. Sometimes it seems so Augean, but with that I'll take up the shovel...

Plus I was/am a total ignoramus about anything dealing with economics. I may have a long way to go on reading, but at least I don't have a lot of intellectual baggage to shed. I think the people who (willfully)won't catch on are the ones who have the most to preserve in the system. Whenever I see someone pop up with some weird theory on Why It Is Totally Important We Keep Capitalism, I know I'm about to get a face-full of bullshit (speaking of blindpig's shovel).

Everyday people who are getting screwed seem to know what is what. It's the Professional Liberals who keep everyone else in a suspended state of helplessness and confusion. I just never knew that was pretty much their entire reason for existence. They are experts on suppressing any discussion of their history with the left, too.
