I'm cool with it. We have a chat on the board but this would allow non-members to chat as well. It's a good idea.

Well, why not? (now that I know what an IRC is...)

Though to be honest I don't know why they would want to talk to us on an IRC channel when they could just post to the forum. Perhaps there is some nuance I'm missing here?

Or mebbe I'm just an out of touch old fart.

I finally figured out how to register the IRC channel, and have done so here.

http://client00.chat.mibbit.com/

Simply type in your username under "Nick" and #thebellforum under "Channel."
