A homeless man is sitting on a New York City sidewalk right outside the offices of a prestigious investment bank. A very well-dressed man walks out of the bank; when the homeless man sees him, he asks the man from the bank if he has any cash to spare. The man from the bank, after searching through his wallet, gives the homeless man 50 cents and then says to the homeless man, "Neither a borrower nor a lender be - William Shakespeare." The homeless man replies, "Fuck you - David Mamet."

Cheers, to all of my fellow Godless Commie Scum! ;)

Works both ways. Just change the last line to: The homeless man replies, "Fuck you, David Mamet".

That's how I understood it on 1st reading. Something to do with my shit attitude, I think.

He could have also said, "Fuck Shakespeare."

And right back at you, Allen, you godless commie scum.

I like to think that Bill's mom wore combat boots too. BUT -- capital but -- he is basically The Progenitor. So much so that it is almost difficult to find a quip or saying in the English language that does not relate back to him in some way. Us guys who are tran-centurarians (trapped in the wrong century) gotta sting together. We say "Bill you came too early"

(or was that Monica's line?)
