My speculation is that if we (the national impeachment movement) frame this in terms of what the Dems are NOT doing, we will lose. Those who sincerely want to protect the criminals want this to be played out as a partisan struggle.

We could 'win' and get all the Dems taking and thinking like us and we then lose the Senate vote to convict. We 'win' impeachment and then the criminals WALK after THEY win the trail in the Senate.

I'm actually starting to like what the Dems are doing. They are keeping the lid on this (Impeachment) and thus helping to create mobilized grassroots demand - not allowing us to delegate the impeachment struggle to them. They have created a pressure cooker which in turn is creating an angry-mobilized base.

Kate nailed it after the meeting - this has to be manifestly an inter-party or non-partisan movement at the grassroots.

An e-mail I received from someone on our "impeachment committee."

This defines "tortured dialog." We have to find ways to justify our ass whipping by the right. They propose a law and it's a sign of our strength. We lose the most meaningful trial in modern history and we win. The only way the establishment Democrats will think differently is if there's a "benefit" (i.e., price tag) attached that's more appealing.

But I admire your friends creativity. I do it myself from time to time.

Tortured dialogue is the perfect way to descirbe this, past dipshitery or douchebaggery. What, pray tell, does he think the angry, mobilized base is going to rally around -- electing Hilary?

Chlams, you should send him back a reply like this:

I'm actually starting to like what the Dems have done in the last 8 years. They are keeping the lid on this (election theft and fraud) and thus helping to create mobilized grassroots demand - not allowing us to delegate the election struggle to them. By standing idly by while George Bush get elected -- twice -- they have created a pressure cooker which in turn is creating an angry-mobilized base.

In light of the above
