Apparently, foodie articles have been the most popular over the last year at alternet, and they are doing a fund-raiser in conjunction with announcing their new "food section." They have a splash page up over their home page today - haven't figured out how to copy it yet.
This could get interesting.
Here is the donation page:
[div class="excerpt"]Please show your grassroots support for our new, much-needed Food section.
Food is one of the most basic and crucial components of our daily lives. It's central to both community and family. It encompasses health, corporate accountability, the environment, water policy and many other issues at the heart of AlterNet's mission.
So, please take a risk with us.
Your support is vital as we break new ground in food politics and policy coverage, and as we increase our reporting on the ills of the outdated industrial food system. We'll also report on the dynamic work that's being done to secure a healthier and more sustainable food approach for us all.
Don't forget: A $30 contribution secures your spot on our Food 2010 Honor Roll of Supporting Readers!
And for a contribution of $60, we will send you the beautiful Feast, a book of our hardest-hitting food articles in 2009.[/quote]
