It is a painting. During a street demonstration, the worker carrying the red flag is shot down. Another stoops to pick it up.

The painting is (relatively) famous and depicts a real event but I have forgotten its name and that of the painter. It may be from street demonstrations in the 1930s in Germany, when both the police and the Nazis often opened fire.

In which case I think the color version should be put up there. I know it won't match the color scheme, but I never even noticed the second dead guy's head until I saw it in color. And the banner just blends too much in to the background.

Just my opinion.
