I got the The World At War on DVD. So far it seems like it focuses way too much on the Nazis, I'm on the third hour (of 26).

Other than that it was mostly clothes and a Super Mario game. I'd (almost) forgotten how terrible I was at Super Mario.

My Mom is big into collecting coins so I think I got some coins too, but I haven't seen them yet. I think its because shes been too busy with her new Nook.

An electric tiller(2 cycle is a pain in the ass) and a gift certificate to the beer store.

My sweetie made an enormous bunch of baked goods, 11 kinds. Fortunately we gave most of those away as usual, they have become a holiday event in themselves.

:hi: Dhalgren!

I'd rather be Grendel than the Grinch any day. Of course, I have no idea what holiday that means I should celebrate. Guy in the same line of work as me says he doesn't celebrate Christmas because hes a New Presbyterian (ok..) Instead, he gives gifts on Tax Day. In April I'm going to give him my wishlisht.

EDIT: incidentally, I've been tallying my Super Mario deaths and..nobody tell the hague because I'm pretty sure I've reached genocide level. I think he has a deathwish no sane person would intentionally jump off a clliff that many times

I've always had my doubts about Mario...

I've always had my doubts about Mario...

It occured to me that if I'd been designing the original I would've been too heavyhanded and made him use a plunger as a weapon instead of stomping things and throwing fireballs; kids everywhere would've got tired of the lame suction effect "plop" everytime they "plunged" a baddie, and perhaps the video game industry would've collapsed in the late 80s. Its sort of my "if I could go back in time and kill Hitler" style theory. Of course, my sequel Mario Unplugged (think about it..) would've never seen the light of day.

Mario Unplugged

The mind boggles...

But "Throw-Back Mario could wield a plunger and a pipe wrench (pretty formidable); but I see that this might be too "working class" - hey, how about Mario forming a Committee For Justice among the workers in his world and executing the wealthy and royals and what-nots? Now THAT is a game!

I got a new jacket i don't need, (I'll give one away), a scarf to match my new $10 flea market coat (I did need), $100 from my mom that I gave to my sister and brother, some kind of techie device that's supposed to let me livestream to my tv, but I don't think it will work as my tv is over 30 years old, and I don't have cable (not sure if that's needed), from my sweetie a stuffed beaver (picture), and a pretty stone.

Not my toy, but similar, mine is missing it's button, so the "value" is diminished, but not for me.
Played angry birds a lot.

Why did someone think that what you really really needed was a gadget to stream to your TV?

Probably because she's a techie, but also to help me escape from reality...as her angry birds game did for a short spell...(keep me quiet for the holidays!!!)

Anyway, the "stuffed beaver" is the keeper! I think that is a hoot!

No christmas here to report = another good year.

Still...how could I not reply when this came to mind and the OP is from you?
