August 22, 2009
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Winchester Ammunition was recently awarded a contract by the Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) division of the Department of Homeland Security to supply a maximum of 200 million, 40 cal. rounds over the next five years.

... especially considering how few .40 caliber pistols are likely to be in the hands of "homeland security". Something is not right with this story.

No shit, I'm wondering if part of it is that they are just trying to keep the ammo out of the hands of others, and overloading Winchester with work vs. necessarily using them all.. that would cover about 2/3 of the nation if sharp shooters were used...
On an aside, my sister was canvassed by civil service to work for DHS, asked me if she should accept, 14 months without a job, catch 22??? (I said I wouldn't)...
