President-elect Donald Trump will not follow through on his campaign pledge to pursue an investigation into Hillary Clinton, one of his aides told MSNBC's "Morning Joe."
"I think when the President-elect, who's also the head of your party, tells you before he's even inaugurated that he doesn't wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message, tone, and content" to other Republicans, former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Tuesday.
Trump had routinely attacked Clinton on the campaign trail over her use of a private server as secretary of State and for foreign donations to the Clinton Foundation while she was in the Obama administration.
"Lock her up" was a common chant among supporters at his rallies.
During one of the presidential debates, Trump quipped that Clinton would be in jail if he was elected.
Trump said in an interview after the election, however, that prosecuting Clinton would not be a priority.

That's true. I saw on twitter this guy saying that someone should remind Trump that "to prosecute or not to prosecute", "to investigate or to not investigate" are not the president's decisions. Yeah, how "go along to get along" is Trump and how ugly will the Republican congress/Senate get? Also, I read a Republican pundit say the Jeff Sessions was not a shoo-in for AG. His confirmation could get real ugly. Hope he is drawn over live coals, Session is a racist automaton. He looks like a wind-up doll when he speaks, got little shark's eyes.
