Revise Title VII: Remove the paragraph allowing discrimination against communists
Petition by Pat Thompson
To be delivered to The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama
Petition Statement
Title VII, the federal law which prohibits employers from engaging in discriminatory employment practices, exempts members of the Communist Party from protection. In effect, it allows employers to freely discriminate against and/or harass employees who are members of the Communist Party or affiliated organizations. The clause which allows discrimination against communists needs to be removed since it is discriminatory, unconstitutional, outdated and is a violation of human rights.

If we had any legs to stand on we wouldn't petition anybody for anything. Smash this whole fucking thing...
I was reading on this atheist site (it has good lectures on science and rationality). And the owners of the site go off on communism like it is child molestation. The guy had just gone through twenty minutes talking about how unfair it was for the majority of the country to vilify and denigrate atheists and how "the constitution this" and "the constitution that". Then he launches into this vicious diatribe against communism as somehow giving atheists a bad name! A "socialist" came on to explain how this was all "broad bush" stuff and then began a lengthy denouncement of the USSR, Stalin, and all that "evil dictatorship" and killings stuff. These fucks are so "rational", so "reasonable", so "versed in logic and science"; yet they cannot see how the substitution of "communist" for "atheist" would not change one iota of the thrust of their previous statement.
Everyone denigrates communists. Everyone dismisses communism as "failed". Webb, et al, sees the solution as being "stop being communists". The actual solution is to be more communistic, more materialist, show greater and more determined working class solidarity. It is hard, it is thankless, but look at what our forefathers and mothers went through from the 1880s straight through to 1960s. So we get vilified and dismissed as anachronistic or losers, or whatever the hell it is. We can surely take that. But beg to be considered equal? That has never in the history of mankind ever worked. "Lame" is an understatement.

The other song & dance that I get from time to time is that Communism is just another mutation of Abrahamic religion, hierarchic, paternalistic, typical anarchist tripe. Clear evidence of the 'ruling ideas' running through the idealism of the petty booj. As is the constant accusations that socialist leaders are salting away billions of the people's dough offshore, somewhere. When these fortunes never materialize it's "Well I'm sure it's somewhere..."And the dumb motherfuckers call us "brainwashed"...

This is vol. 6 of Complete Works of J. Stalin. This is something he wrote shortly after Lenin's death. But it strikes me as something every socialist-minded person should know.
The second time I met Lenin was in 1906 at the Stockholm
Congress12 of our Party. You know that the Bolsheviks
were in the minority at this congress and suffered
defeat. This was the first time I saw Lenin in the role of
the vanquished. But he was not in the least like those leaders
who whine and lose heart after a defeat. On the contrary,
defeat transformed Lenin into a spring of compressed
energy which inspired his supporters for new battles
and for future victory. I said that Lenin was defeated.
But what sort of defeat was it? You had only to look
at his opponents, the victors at the Stockholm Congress—
Plekhanov, Axelrod, Martov and the rest. They had
little of the appearance of real victors, for Lenin’s
merciless criticism of Menshevism had not left one whole
bone in their body, so to speak. I remember that we,
the Bolshevik delegates, huddled together in a group, gazing
at Lenin and asking his advice. The speeches of some
of the delegates betrayed a note of weariness and dejection.
I recall that to these speeches Lenin bitingly
replied through clenched teeth: “Don’t whine, comrades,
we are bound to win, for we are right.” Hatred of
the whining intellectual, faith in our own strength, confidence
in victory—that is what Lenin impressed upon
us. It was felt that the Bolsheviks’ defeat was temporary,
that they were bound to win in the very near future.
“No whining over defeat”—this was the feature of
Lenin’s activities that helped him to rally around himself
an army faithful to the end and confident in its
strength.

My detractor above woud point to that as more evidence of his complaint. Their idealism is stifling, a kneejerk rejection of how human society works. No wonder they never get anywhere.

You know, I know almost no one (in my life) who actually understands how societies work. They have this conception that all societies are essentially the same and descend from heaven (or something). Trying to discuss real life things with these folks is like trying open a can of soup with a rock. But I ain't whinin'!

They reject 'hierarchy' as a concept, taking the subjective conditions of class society to be the objective condition of humanity.
First of all, how ya gonna get anything done? Sometime ya just need a 'manager'. And sometimes ya need a leader to consentrate human wants and capabilities that progress might be made. Failure to recognise this leads to the endless circle-jerk that is modern anarchism and trotskyism.
Does their rejection of hierarchy extend to the ur-human respect for our elders? I kinda think so and suspect that this is related to the chronic immaturity which capitalist society inflicts upon it's members. It really is a snotty nosed teenager sort of thing.
Mature humans use leaders, the immature follow.

This I really like. "Mature humans use leaders." The true nature of leadership in human societies based on equality is one of service. The idea that a "leader" might be at the service of his/her society is completely alien to most westerners, today. Well done.

Dead-on. And the proletarian dictatorship will come about when the working class grasps that communism is their only alternative to shackles. Trump's followers are wont to say that The Donald is "for the little guy". Well, the workers are not "the little guy", they are giants when they stand together, unstoppable when unified, and have no need of Trump, Sanders, or any of that ilk.
