Nava, Torico and Lieu have repeatedly proven that they will do what they are paid by special interests to do. Their main work has been writing and promoting unconstitutional anti-privacy legislation in CA that would allow police unprecedented access to people's homes and end all Fourth Amendment Rights for Californians. They always ignore the wishes of their constituents on privacy matters.

Chris Kelly and Ted Lieu are admittedly pro-business conservatives.

Rocky Delgadillo is a great guy who has some very conservative opinions with respect to criminal justice, such as his strong support for the death penalty.

When Kamala Harris took office as District Attorney of San Francisco, one of her first cases involved a teen gang member. The gang was involved in the death of a policemen and she REFUSED TO SEEK THE DEATH PENALTY, REMAINING TRUE TO HER CAMPAIGN PROMISE. Bill Lockyer tried to take over the case. Boxer and Feinstein condemned Harris's anti-death penatly approach. In the end, Kamals Harris won on keeping the case and on opposing the death penalty. This is an unusual win for a district attorney. She's got courage.

Kamala Harris accused of withholding vital info

San Francisco's public defender accused District Attorney Kamala Harris on Wednesday of refusing to turn over to defense lawyers the names of police officers with arrest records or misconduct histories whose trial testimony has helped to convict defendants.

Public Defender Jeff Adachi said Harris is arguing that her prosecutors first must review the names on a list being drawn up by the Police Department. Only after going to court for permission, Harris has said, would her office ultimately alert defense attorneys to the officers' problems.

However, Adachi said, that process would require defense attorneys to put their faith in the district attorney to inform them of officers whose histories could result in convictions being overturned.

"We are the ones who have clients who have been harmed by this, and we should be the ones who conduct a review of the cases," Adachi said at a news conference.

Harris, he said, "is putting the privacy interests of police officers who have misconduct records and who have been convicted of crimes above the rights of citizens to a fair and honest trial."

some of them have flowery rhetoric too!

One or two may even have the passion to 'make a difference' along with an incredible level of naivete. But I wouldn't bet on that last one.

the attorneys of the accused equate with being a progressive? Wouldn't protecting the rights of the accused be more progressive?

but in all honesty, I don't see progressives as one iota less venal or corrupt than their "opposition"
