The challenge for those participating in today’s march is not merely the “celebration of science,” but of connecting the attacks on science to the broader attacks on all progressive aspects of modern society by capitalism, a social and economic system in which all human activity is subordinated to the profit motive.

Pretty much what I told an old friend who had recently retired from NOAA and who was on his way to DC. Unfortunately for the challenge above the scientific endevor is by definition petty booj and even if ya weren't born to that class those ruling ideas are deeply embedded in the culture, the booj view of 'human nature' is prevalent. I swear to christ the guy was more radical when we were 16.
