The Conservative Cave: Lifetime Achievement Award

Oh, boy, do I want to win this one. Who was it who said you are defined by your adversaries? Bad publicity is better than none at all. Especially when you have a book coming out that will rattle their cage.

I sure would like to know who the DU mole is that Cave man Ralph Wiggum is referring to.

My oldest, highest post count & still existing mole argued with TIA extensively back in the old days. His assumptions were so off base (80% of undecideds vote Democrat) that he was so for ridicule. Not that his other assumptions were any better.

Damn you, sir.

Okay, this is where I'm at, at the moment; Mr. Wiggum is 50% of the vote on the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, and is free to differ with me, no problem. We'll hash it out, but those making those write-in votes can help their cause by posting arguments here in favor of their choices.

I have no idea what criteria or standard my esteemed colleague Mr. Wiggum chooses to use--and he is of course free to use whatever criteria or standard he wants to use, but my own is this: the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD should go to that prmitive who has most influenced, most affected, most touched, the primitives on Skins's island.

I wrote in the Bostonian Drunkard, William Pitt, because I was in a haste, and automatically and routinely assumed the Bostonian Drunkard would be a near-unanimous choice, even though he's about as 2009 as leisure suits.

I regret I did that, and now it's pretty much assured I'm going to change my own vote by Friday evening. To which alternative primitive, I have no idea; it's still possible for the Bostonian Drunkard to get it, though, if any of his adherents here put up a pretty good case, making a silk purse out of a pig's ear.

I'm 99% sure I won't favor Pedro Picasso, Atman, because as mentioned before, his impact and influence on Skins's island is less than minor.

But again, if an adherent here can put up a good case for Pedro Picasso, I'm listening.

I'm 90% sure I won't favor the carpetbagging maternal ancestress, Raven the mother of the misbegotten (with Nikita Khrushchev and Lavrentiy Beria each providing half a sperm) Bostonian Drunkard.

It's true that by being the mother of the Bostonian Drunkard, the carpetbagging maternal ancestress was the "First Cause" (and she would understand what I mean by "First Cause") of nearly all (please notice the "nearly all," which is not the same thing as "all") that which is stupid and ridiculous and asinine on Skins's island, and I'm willing to give ear to any adherents of hers, using this argument.

Without the carpetbagging maternal ancestress (with the help of a couple of Soviet pols), the Bostonian Drunkard would never exist, and if the Bostonian Drunkard never existed, nor would much of the stupidity on Skins's island exist.

So that's a reasonable argument that could be made, but it's up to the adherents of the carpetbagging maternal ancestress to make those arguments; I'm listening, and I'm sure the honorable Mr. Wiggum is too.

I'm still ambivalent about the dreamy primitive, SeemsLikeADream, because I never knew hardly anything about her, and am currently reading up on her. I have no idea, and am just continuing to look at her old bonfires in the archives of Skins's island.

There is the proposal of the late red round one, the AndyStephenson primitive, who had an undeniably malevolent influence on nearly every primitive, past and present. I'm ruminating over that.

I'm gravitating towards either Fat Che, BenBurch, and Doug's stupid ex-wife, EFerrari, at the moment. Both have had a pervasive odoriferous poisonous malfluence on Skins's island as a whole. As with the Bostonian Drunkard, every primitive has been affected by Fat Che and Doug's stupid ex-wife to one degree or another.

*******************************************
But now miskie here has presented us with the tits-in-ass primitive, TruthIsAll, who like Fat Che and Doug's stupid ex-wife, has over the years exercised considerable influence among the unterprimitiven, being almost a cult figure for the faceless lynch mob.
*********************************************

And finally we come to the lying tits primitive, TomInTib; all of his adherents here can just sit on their hands, because I don't need much more information about him and his influence on the primitives.

I'll be happy next year, when we can choose the winner of the LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD by popular vote; remember, the suggestion for the award was made really late in the nominating process, and so while it was decided to give the award, it was necessary to keep the selection process--this one single time--under control, the honorable Mr. Wiggum and I making the ultimate decision.

Logged
a very Merry Christmas to the primitives on Skins's island; God Is, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it, so give it up, accept, adapt, and move on

I completely forgot about TIA and his "math". Excellent nomination.

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

TIA REPLIES:
GALLUP ALLOCATED 90% OF UNDECIDED VOTERS TO KERRY, HARRIS AND ZOGBY 70-80%.
BUSH HAD 48% APPROVAL.
HISTORICALLY, CHALLENGERS HAVE ALWAYS CAPTURED THE UNDECIDED VOTE - ESPECIALLY WHEN THE INCUMBENT WAS UNPOPULAR.
I USED A RANGE OF UNDECIDED VOTER SCENARIOS IN THE 2004 PRE-ELECTION MODEL.
FROM 50-87% WERE ASSUMED TO VOTE FOR KERRY. KERRY WON ALL THE SCENARIOS..

This is what Zogby said a few days before the election:

“The key reason why I still think that Kerry will win… traditionally, the undecideds break for the challenger against the incumbent on the basis of the fact, simply, that the voters already know the incumbent, and it's a referendum on the incumbent. And if the incumbent is polling, generally, under 50 percent and leading by less than 10, historically, incumbents have lost 7 out of 10 times. In this instance you have a tie, a President who is not going over 48, undecideds who tell us by small percentages that the President deserves to be reelected. And in essence, it gives all the appearances that the undecideds -- the most important people in the world today -- have made up their minds about President Bush. The only question left is: Can they vote for John Kerry? If it's a good turnout, look for a Kerry victory. If it's a lower turnout, it means that the President has succeeded in raising questions about John Kerry's fitness”.

Note: Final Zogby Election Day polling had Kerry winning by 50-47%, with 311 electoral votes, indicating that 75% of undecided voters broke for Kerry. It was not a good turnout; it was a great turnout. According to the Census, 125.7 million votes were cast in in 2004, compared to 110.8m in 2000. A close analysis indicates that there must have been close to 22 million new voters. Here’s why: Approximately 5.4 million Election 2000 voters died prior to 2004, so 105.4m were alive. Assuming 98% turnout, another two million did not vote, so 103.4m former 2000 voters returned to the polls in 2004 out of 125.7m cast. That means there were 22.3m (125.7-103.4) new voters! Preliminary National Exit Polls indicated that Kerry won 57-62% of new voters (approximately 4.5 million more than Bush).

Re: Official ballot for Top Primitive of 2009
Great nomination.

The only time I have ever been noticed by DU has been because of an Anti-Tia thread I posted at FR - a simple graph correlating the weather with depressed democrat turnout at polls.

The message was Liberals don't vote when its inconvenient, like everything else they do - if its not easy or fun, its someone else's problem. However Conservatives will drag themselves to their polling places with broken spines and gaping wounds if need be.

Anyway, it got them HOWLING - Good times, good times..

TIA REPLIES:
THERE WERE OVER 5 MILLION UNCOUNTED VOTES IN 2000 AND MORE THAN 4 MILLION IN 2004.
APPROXIMATELY 70-80% WERE DEMOCRATS (50% MINORITIES). THEY DIDN'T STAY HOME.
THEIR VOTES WERE NOT COUNTED. YOU CAN LOOK IT UP.
