View Full Version : Deeply humbled.

Political Heretic

I wanted to check in. Here's the simple breakdown:

I was unbelievably, catastrophically wrong in my decision to vote for Barack Obama, and in my fixation on voting in a national election in the first place. And I was wrong to place any hope into one of these two political parties, even for minor positive changes.

I had more than enough information and warning in advance, which I ignored. Before I ever posted here there was Chlamor, tirelessly delivering inconvenient truth all over the internet. I of course ridiculed and insulted more than I engaged in any honest exchange, along with PFC lackeys (back in the day.)

Then there were countless others, carefully and meticulously detailing the folly and digusting nature of our American political economy. Which I ignored.

I was arrogant and rude in my certainty, and condescending in lecturing others about style and method of delivery - when my own style and methods were regularly insulting.

I offer no explanation or justification - no twelve page long rationale. All I can tell you is that the fragmented pieces of truth that were swimming around in my head on sea of ingrained propaganda and institutionalized thinking finally coalesced into something concrete. Now I see the simplicity: workers or rulers - pick a side.

Please - accept my sincere apology. I feel very humbled now, but with my eyes finally fully open.

It feels like a home-coming, doesn't it?

On their side, they have the Army, the Navy, the Air Force, the FBI, the ATF, all political parties, all priests and soothsayers, all the money, all previous winners of American Idol and the entire Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

On our side we got maybe twenty odd characters and a blind three legged dog... and a potential audience of six or seven billion...

The fuckers ought to surrender right now.

No grudges held nor small body parts requested.

Keep pokin' em over at DULand and wherever else you can on the streets. Time is coming.

Be proud that you are strong enough to see through the haze.

It will be a pleasure to see your formidable skills leveraged in the service of your new-found point of view.

Where's the DU link ?

an aphorism that a friend has hammered into me: read or bleed, learn or burn.

We have alot to learn and even more to do.

For now we might think about humbleness you mention. I've thought and said much stupider things than anything you ever wrote to me or others. But there's no need to apologize for it OR evangelize about it. No grandstanding.

I doubt our eyes are finally fully open, yours or mine. We have everything to learn and our goal is the simpleness of the foot soldier.

Being wrong is nothing. When we're dead we'll have a very long time to sleep off our mistakes. So for now lets tell that guy with the hood and scythe to fuck right off and see how far we can go.

No apology needed as far as I am concerned.

I've read a lot of your writing the past couple years, even your thesis (which I may not have completely understood but I gave it a go)... and frankly this is the best thing you've written so far.

OET aside, we'll be here when you're ready to discuss more, at least I will.
