My brother is very involved with the local orchestra. Everything in this article is accurate as far as I can tell although the 40k/yr pay cuts seems odd since I was under the impression that some of the players didn't make that much in the first place.

Anyway, I agree that there is a solidarity among the players even here in Florida. Its getting very tense although as the author notes, the budget crunch was the worst a few years ago.
