Wolf can think what he likes, and besides which the history of religions tends to be one of aggression, violence, brutality, etc.

Throw some links up historically that prove him wrong about the unprovoked assault Islam started waging 700 years ago.

I don't think making the case against Islam a central theme reflects well on the site personally, but Wolf will be the first to tell you he isn't making an isolated condemnation of Islam - he's railing against all Abrahamic religions.

I'm not sure he's claiming his view is a materialist view (which, as far as I know is kind of 'messy' anyway, since its involves devoting quite a bit of academic study to the historical context to get it right) or derived directly from Marx. After a point I think it becomes too doctrinaire to try and reconcile everything with orthodox Marxism (whatever that is)
