Tania Díaz: Hegemonic powers want to turn Venezuela into a new Libya

25.AUG.2017

Constituent Tania Díaz said Thursday that "the plan of the hegemonic powers is that Venezuela becomes a new Libya in the Latin American continent."

In her intervention in the Dossier program led by Walter Martínez and broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión, the ANC member stated that in Venezuela there is an organized town where actions such as the Soberanía 2017 Civic Military Exercise "that is unpublished" are produced.

He also indicated that the most serious situation that Venezuela is going through is the siege. "We are with all legitimate right starring our participatory and protagonist democracy. And this siege has a dual purpose of seizing the riches and murdering the Revolution. "

He stressed that Venezuela is advancing and that the ANC took the necessary step to strengthen the political model of the Bolivarian Revolution. "We are giving birth to this new era, the peoples must have the last word and Venezuela is a reference," he said.

Caracas, Aug. 25 .- The executive decree signed by US President Donald Trump against the Venezuelan economy is a new stage of economic liberation for the Venezuelan people, said the president of the Bolivarian Republic Of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro.

"It's the bells of independence, of dignity, what is ringing," said the National President from the Sol del Perú room of the Presidential Palace in Miraflores, Caracas.

Venezuela Military, Civilians Hold Exercises Amid US Threats

Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said Venezuelans are “ready to give everything” to defend their country.
Venezuela’s Bolivarian National Armed Forces, FANB, and thousands of civilians have begun joint military exercises in the face of renewed U.S. threats against the South American country.

The exercises, which will be held from Aug. 26-27, form part of the “defense plan of the homeland” organized in defense of the country’s sovereignty. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced the civic-military initiative on Aug. 14, days after U.S. President Donald Trump threatened Venezuela with talk of a possible “military option.”

Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez said that the Venezuelan people and the FANB are ready to give everything to defend the country.

“The American empire responds to Venezuelan democracy with greater aggression,” Lopez said, alluding to new Washington-imposed sanctions against Venezuela on Friday.

“We must understand the broad concept of what sovereignty is, the capacity of a state, a nation and its government to make their own decisions. This country will follow the course that Venezuelans themselves decide upon,” he added, slamming U.S. attempts to interfere in the country’s affairs.

The nationwide exercises include ground excursions, combat readiness, mobilization and weapons training.

Uribe Calls for Military Intervention Against Venezuela

by Geovanny Vicente Romero

The right-wing former Colombian President called on the Venezuelan military to wage a coup against elected President Nicolas Maduro.
The former right-wing President of Colombia, Alvaro Uribe, again called for a military intervention in Venezuela, on the same day that the United States Government announced the imposition of new, stronger sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic.

In a press conference on Friday, Uribe called on Venezuela's National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB) to carry out a coup against the elected, constitutional government of President Nicolas Maduro.

“The Armed Forces of Venezuela, instead of continuing the tragedy, have to stop it, and they have to have a military intervention there, not to install a military government but rather to sideline Maduro,” Uribe said.

Having achieved this, the Colombian right-wing leader said that the Venezuelan National Assembly President and opposition leader, Julio Borges, should be the one to assume “transitory power” until there are elections and a “democratic government.”

He also went on to outright reject calls for dialogue with the Venezuelan opposition issued by President Maduro, saying that the objective of dialogue would be “to maintain the socialist dictatorship.”

Also on Friday, the U.S. President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing stronger sanctions against Venezuela in response to the National Constituent Asssembly.

Earlier this week, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro spoke of the need for Venezuela to bolster its “anti-imperialist defense” against a possible foreign military intervention, which he predicted would be preceded by some kind of sanctions or blockade, and possibly be carried out from within the military itself.

Venezuela: The Hour of Liberation Has Arrived
Posted by CO-ADMIN on AUGUST 28, 2017
The current offensive of the Trump administration can help us to accelerate the deconstruction of imperial domination.
Elías Jaua Milano
The popular victory of our Comandante Chavez in December 1998 opened the way towards dismantling the hegemonic model so as to use the nation’s oil income for endogenous development, economic diversification and building an egalitarian society.
Last Friday, in his address to the country in response to the unprecedented financial aggression against our homeland expressed in the Executive Order of President Donald Trump, comrade President Nicolas Maduro explained with the utmost clarity the unjustified nature of these sanctions and their impact. And he pointed out that, above and beyond its negative consequences, this latest imperial affront will allow us to advance in our national history to a stage liberated from imperial dominance.
Specifically, he called for the construction of a national post-U.S. leadership model. He asked me to develop and write about that proposal, so today I’m venturing to sketch out a general outline.
Since 1908, after the betrayal of the nationalist President Cipriano Castro by Gomez, the nascent U.S. imperial elite consolidated and expanded its hegemony over Venezuela. They used the criminal disposition of their new watchdog Juan Vicente Gomez, expressed in a single-export, import-dependent, socially exclusive model with a military doctrine that treated the People as an enemy. Either de facto or via elections, the political system represented the elites, with a foreign policy subordinate to imperial geopolitics and the cultural assimilation of a pseudo-yankee, racist mindset.
Generation after generation, waves of intellectuals, workers, soldiers, students and revolutionaries resisted this domination. The popular victory of Comandante Chavez in December 1998 began the process of dismantling that dominant model by promoting the use of the nation’s oil income for internal development, diversifying our economy and creating an equal society, rescuing the Bolivarian military doctrine of an army of the People rather than its enemy, the emergence of popular democratic protagonism, multipolar respect-based international relations and recognition of our cultural diversity as the basis of Venezuela’s national identity.
Now we have suffered the response to that of the Empire and its pawns, during 18 years of destabilization and aggression against our Motherland.
As President Maduro has suggested, and we agree, the current offensive of very serious aggression by the Trump administration can help us to accelerate the deconstruction, begun by our Comandante Chavez, of imperial domination so as to reinstate for good our full National Independence.
In that sense, I propose here to outline the bases of this new national and popular hegemony that will leave behind the dark period of subordination to the cultural, economic and military apparatus that rules the United States, while always recognizing the great positive contributions of the United States people to humanity. The balance in our favor of this new battle of wills between the Empire and ourselves, the people of Bolivar should be:
The highest level of economic autonomy in our history, based on national production, scientific and technological innovation and the definitive emergence of a mixed economy in which private property and socialist property in their various forms complement each other so as to satisfy our vital needs as a people.
The definitive and irreversible diversification of markets for our oil and its derivatives, never again to be dependent on a single purchaser.
The consolidation of a financial architecture and a plan for multipolar international trade acting via different routes and mechanisms.
Integrating into the Constitution an egalitarian model for the distribution of our national income which will allow us to eradicate poverty for ever, as a guarantee of political and social stability and the full exercise of every human right.
The flourishing of a democratic model of Popular Power to forge a liberating, equal, honest, hardworking society as the basis of a social, democratic national society based on the rule of law and justice.
The development and expansion in the heart of our National Bolivarian Armed Forces and our whole society of an anti-imperialist, anti-oligarchic, popular democratic military doctrine.
The reaffirmation of our national identity recognizing the beautiful history that is ours and the cultural diversity that allows us to be the wise, spiritual free society that we are.
Today, in order to consolidate the hegemony of our national sovereignty and liberty we have the political sovereignty, the industrial and technological base, the professional capacity, privileged international relations with emerging pole of development, millions of women and men organized politically and socially, the National Bolivarian Armed Forces, the National Constituent Assembly and above all the consciousness that Chavez helped germinate in the majority of us.
Compatriots, let us leave behind the chains that still bind us to a culture of denationalization, corruption, division and betrayal. The hour of our second Independence has arrived so that, with intelligence and courage, we will win against an Imperialism that will not make war on us. That will be our victory.
Our Comandante Chavez made very clear the objective of this battle “To expand and consolidate the most precious thing of all, our National Independence, reconquered after 200 years”. We’ll all see each other in the civic-military exercise Bolivarian Sovereignty 2017. We are blessed as a people. God and our conscience will defend us.

Elías Jaua Milano is former Vice President of Venezuela, and was also head of the Presidential Commission for the Constituent Assembly.

Venezuela Prepares to Defend Itself Against US Aggression
Posted by CO-ADMIN on AUGUST 28, 2017
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro invited the whole world to participate in a “day of solidarity and support for Venezuela, peace, sovereignty; and day of dialogue, peace and sovereignty with the Venezuelan people, to be held this coming September 16 and 17.
Redacción Internacional | internacionales@granma.cu
Although Venezuela is set to announce measures in response to U.S. aggression against the country, we have been preparing ourselves for some time now, stated President of the National Constituent Assembly, Delcy Rodríguez, August 27.
“Given that Venezuela is a country with vast resources, able to make it a powerful nation, imperial forces have laid siege to the Venezuelan people. They revealed themselves when they announced sanctions against the Venezuelan people,” stated Rodríguez during a broadcast on Venezolana de Televisión.
During the first Constituent Assembly meeting held in Ezequiel Zamora Park, Rodríguez highlighted the interventionist nature of the executive order recently issued by the Donald Trump administration, imposing sanctions on the country.
She warned that such threats follow on from those made by former U.S. President Barack Obama, who signed an executive order describing Venezuela as an unusual and extraordinary threat to the country’s security.
“They (the United States) began saying in 2015 that if there was a humanitarian crisis in Venezuela, they would intervene militarily. In the face of these threats President Nicolás Maduro has maintained the protection of the people and taken care of their fundamental needs,” she noted.
VENEZUELA MOBILIZES IN THE FACE OF US AGGRESSION
Last weekend, as part of efforts by the South American country’s military to respond to possible acts of imperialist aggression, combat forces from the Bolivarian Marine Infantry, Army, Armored Battalion and other groups affiliated with the National Bolivarian Armed Forces (FANB), carried out a series of exercises within a nationwide civil-military mobilization called Bolivarian Sovereignty 2017.
According to Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino López, the exercises included “ground excursions, combat readiness, mobilization and weapons training,” reported teleSUR Enlgish.
“We have witnessed an extraordinary demonstration of combat exercises, which have shown the articulation and inter-operability of all components and anti-aircraft forces. We have seen perfect synchronization between the elements, which has only been possible due to the FANB’s level of preparation and skill. Precision, discipline, cohesion, and coordination here, at the legendary El Pao Camp,” stated Padrino López during a VTV broadcast.
He went on to highlight that thousands of civilians also participated in the nationwide mobilizations.
GLOBAL SUMMIT IN SOLIDARITY WITH VENEZUELA
In the midst of threats and sanctions imposed by the US, Bolivarian President Nicolás Maduro announced that a Global Summit in Solidarity with Venezuela is set to be held September 16-17.
“The whole world is invited to the day of solidarity and support for Venezuela, peace, sovereignty, and the day of dialogue, peace and sovereignty with the people of Venezuela,” stated Maduro during a preparatory meeting which was presided by Sectoral Vice President of Social Development and the Revolution of Missions, Elías Jaua, with the participation of 23 activists from 17 nations, representatives from 22 social movements, as well as Venezuelan intellectuals.
In an article published by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN) Jaua noted that the recent threats against the country by the U.S. government, “will allow us to speed up the process of deconstructing imperialist hegemony begun by our Comandante Chávez and restore once and for all our full national independence.”
He went on to highlight the expansion and development of the anti-imperialist, anti-oligarchy Bolivarian and democratic popular military doctrine, and reaffirmation of national identity, within the FANB and all of society.
According to Jaua, today Venezuela enjoys political sovereignty, has an industrial and technological base, skilled workforce, positive international relations with developing nations, a politicized society, the FANB, a National Constituent Assembly; and above all, a national consciousnesses focused on sovereignty and liberation, which the legacy of Chávez alive and well in the majority of the population.

Delcy Rodriguez: Opposition groups that promoted violence want to return to the democratic path
28 August, 2017 15:04

Image

Following the meetings of the Truth Commission of the National Constituent Assembly (ANC) with opposition groups that promoted and participated in the events of political violence between April and July 2017, some important measures will be announced in the next few hours. Will be taken, said Monday the president of the plenipotentiary body, Delcy Rodriguez.

"The Venezuelan people must know who they called violence and why they did it. The most important thing that I want to emphasize of these groups with whom we have dialogued, is their willingness to return to the democratic path. The Venezuelan people do not want a conflict for the country, it wants peace, "he said, broadcasting VTV.

At a press conference hosted by the Foreign Ministry in Caracas, Rodríguez said that the ANC is conducting an investigation to determine the responsibility of some activists of the national right in the recent economic aggressions that the US government Addressed to the people of Venezuela.

"The ANC has initiated an investigation in the Commission for the Truth that has to do with how it is attacked against the Venezuelan socioeconomic order. The deputy (of Primero Justicia) Julio Borges is subject of that investigation, because he actively subscribed requests for sanctions and financial blockades against Venezuela, from Venezuela and from abroad. These measures and investigations are ongoing, "he said.

http://www.correodelorinoco.gob.ve/delc ... mocratica/

Sure they want to talk, their attempt to bring down the state through booj rioting, murder and mayhem failed. Their attempt to turn the masses and the military failed. Their soliciting sanctions against their country is bald-faced treason. There are no US Marines on the horizon to save them, what they got left but talk? So let them talk while investigations are held. And keep some walls handy.

Venezuela Rejects MUD’s Fascist Communiqué
Posted by CO-ADMIN on AUGUST 28, 2017
The Venezuelan government categorically rejected this Sunday the communiqué issued by the opposition coalition MUD, which supports the economic aggression against Venezuela by the United States government.
In this message, the Venezuelan opposition urges other countries and investors to economically block and isolate the country. The Venezuelan government described such a statement as “the most fascist of all communiques that have ever been read.”
It also pointed out that this communique of the opposition leadership is a request for war against Venezuela. “It is the petition to Non-Integration, Non-International Law, Non-Sovereignty of Peoples, Non-Dialogue, Non-Democracy, Non-Life.”
The Bolivarian Government statement follows:
The so-called opposition coalition MUD has issued a statement that is unprecedented in the contemporary history of Venezuelan politics. It seems impossible to believe that a sector that makes political life in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, is openly servile to foreign interests, and calls for military intervention against our country.
They continue to encourage assassinations, hate speech and violence.
With such document, they ask other countries do the same as the United States did on August 25, that is to act in a xenophobic way against our country, and set aside international law and treaties. There is no other way to understand this text, beyond categorizing it as the most fascist of all communiques that have ever been read.
In fact, it is not a communique, it is a petition for war against Venezuela, it is the petition for Non-Integration, Non-International Law, Non-Sovereignty of Peoples, Non-Dialogue, Non-Democracy, Non-Life.
This document is the NO-Politics, it is to return to the obscurantism of the guillotine and death to the enemy. Which enemy? For the National Government, the enemy is fascism anywhere in the world whether or not it is against Venezuela, because fascism is contrary to humanity and solidarity of humanity.
For MUD the enemy is Venezuela. We know this is not a sanction against President Nicolas Maduro, it is a sanction against 30 million Venezuelans, and especially the 8 million and many more who could not leave their homes on July 30, who wagered to resolve their conflicts through PEACE: they said so.
The National Government categorically rejects a text framed in hatred, warlike, anti-patriotic, anti-nationalist and anti-integrationist.
We call on loyal forces, men and women attached to nationalist and patriotic values. It is time to unite against the threats of the empire, and now against the threats of the rogue fascism who makes life in the ranks of Venezuelan opposition.
Venezuela is a sovereign, free country based on the principles of equality, justice and defense of our sovereignty and citizen security. This will continue, as long as the Venezuelan Government and the people march together along the path of peace, there will be no human power to prevent our victory over imperial and national fascism. A victory that was consolidated on July 30 and will continue to strengthen. Nobody said it would be easy, but this is the way. There is no way to peace, peace is the way.
This is the moment to express our love for Venezuela, as Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez once did it by supporting our country with the president of that time Cipriano Castro in the imperial blockade of the early twentieth century. As Jose Manuel “el Mocho” Hernandez once did it despite his strong opposition to the Castro government. This is no time to hesitate. The position is one, love for Venezuela is shown by defending it from anyone who tries to humiliate it by whatever means.
Let us therefore continue to build the homeland: Workers, Peasants, Students; Women and older adults, to defend the future, to defend what we have achieved with so much sacrifice. We are born to win and not to be defeated..
Unity, Unity of the Patriots
Independence and Socialist Homeland
Long live Bolivar!

Judge to investigate Venezuelan opponent Lilian Tintori

A court of appeals cited a hearing on September 5 to the wife of the opposition leader Leopoldo López, who was arrested for instigating violence.
How to Bring a Touch of Summer into Your Fall Style

Right-wing Lilian Tintori is expected to attend a hearing on September 5 after a court of inquiry opened an investigation into the 200 million bolivars ($ 60,000) found in Tintori's brother Tin Tintori Parra's van.

On Tuesday, the Venezuelan Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, reported the discovery by the scientific police of 200 million bolivars in cash inside a vehicle of a family member of the opposition instigator of violence, Leopoldo López.

Saab revealed that the police informed him that the tickets were distributed in "four wooden boxes" inside a vehicle intercepted by that body in the Los Palos Grandes sector of eastern Caracas.

Tintori explained that this money was supposedly destined "to pay urgent family expenses" of his "granny who is 100 years old and hospitalized for days."

The money was recovered by agents of the criminal and scientific police (Cicpc) in the urbanization of Sebucan, Sucre municipality, in the east of Caracas.

Initially the Toyota van Fortuner model gray and plate AA967YM was attributed to a direct relative of the extreme right-wing leader Leopoldo López but latehttps://www.telesurtv.net/news/Juzgado-investig ... 0053.htmlr with the original invoice it was verified that the vehicle had been acquired in 2009 by Parra, musician who runs a band funk rock and who has been living in Mexico City for several years.

However, her sister Lilian publicly assumed that the vehicle was his and that the money was intended to pay urgent family expenses related to the care of the paternal grandmother, who is 100 years old and has no health insurance because the policy of the insurers exclude older adults.

The money confiscated amounts to just over $ 61,000 at the official Dicom rate and was enclosed in four wooden boxes, similar to those used to transport the new money cone bills from the printing house in Sweden. This indicates that they did not even circulate and were delivered directly from a banking institution.

The Brazilian union leader makes a call to solidarity with the Bolivarian nation

The Brazilian people are being bombarded day after day with lies and manipulations of the big media regarding the situation in Venezuela. Allegations range from its government being dictatorial to mass exodus of its people, to starvation of the population and daily violence by the police against citizens on the streets.

Let’s look at the facts. Since Chávez took office through elections in 1999, 18 elections were held in Venezuela. Only two of them were lost by the government. The right-wing opposition governs three major states. This country held more direct elections than any other throughout its history.

Around 30 thousand Venezuelans migrated from their country to Colombia and Brazil. But there are currently 3 million Colombians and over 15 thousand Haitians living in Venezuela.

Venezuela is a big country, which imports its food, and those who import are private companies and the government. Never in its history did Venezuela spend so many dollars in food imports as it does now.

From April to August 2017, the right-wing adopted an Ukrainian tactic based on instilling fear and causing chaos to ultimately make a coup, by attempting to divide the armed forces and call for a foreign military intervention! They adopted the most varied forms of social and physical violence, following the CIA manuals step by step. Everything was carried out by lumpen youth and mercenaries, who were paid in dollars. 95 people were killed in this process. Five were killed by the armed forces and 90 were chavistas murdered by the right.

The government’s response was convening an election to appoint a broad committee to reform the Constitution, and thus reconstruct the social pact. The majority of the people of Venezuela supported this initiative and the voter turnout was massive: even though voting was not mandatory, over 8 million people attended the polls—the largest participation in the last 20 years. With the Constituent elections, the people defeated terror and the Ukrainian tactic.

The opposition withdrew their mercenaries from the streets and now they are going to participate—with their Euros and dollars—in the gubernatorial elections, next October 22.

But the Empire didn’t idly stand by, and Donald Trump threatened Venezuela with an economic and naval blockade and a military intervention! Good heavens! The blabbering emperor doesn’t know the Venezuelan people, nor Latin America, nor international law. These threats managed to strengthen even further the alliance between the armed forces and the Venezuelan people. And a military aggression would lead millions of workers of Latin America to mobilize in defense of Venezuela.

Deep down, the dispute is not over Maduro’s government. The dispute is over the oil rent, which was illegally appropriated by US companies throughout the 20th century, and by a minority of Venezuelan oligarchs who lived like maharajas! And that is over.

The duty of all militaries, of all upright people, of all social movements and left-wing parties, is to defend the people of Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution.

Or to declare oneself to be on the side of the Empire and of their mercenary allies inside Venezuela!

In Brazil, over 60 people’s movements and political parties have joined in the Brazilian Committee for Peace in Venezuela, to demonstrate and support peace in that country in every possible way.

The putschists, their press and some opportunists continue to vomit lies as if they had moral authority to criticize the governments of other countries.

But history doesn’t fail, and future generations will know they were mercenary putschists at the service of foreign capital.
